    @pumpkintown I've just watched your video again, the night before I'm about to install my new vinyl roof on my 30 Town Sedan. Thankyou so much for posting this video, I just realised I stapled down the chicken wire directly over the top of the wood and noticed you put strips of cloth between the wood and wire. I assume this would be to stop vibration or squeaks. From memory I now realise there was a sheet of cotton below the wire on mine when I removed it months ago. It's too late for me to lift the wire without a lot of work, so I'm going to paint seam sealer along the tops of the wood ribs/wire junction to keep the wire from rubbing/vibrating. Thanks for helping me out again, even though I'm on the other side of the planet!!! Cheers from Australia.

    • @pumpkintown
      @pumpkintown 10 дней назад

      Sounds like a good plan brother. Can I suggest that maybe you go the extra mile and pull those staples? A little extra work now will save you squeaks in the future and give the satisfaction of a job well done. Plus whoever gets your car after you someday and sees what you did when replacing the vinyl is more likely to replicate what you did! Pass it along brother! Keep up the good work and watch the other videos in this series to help you along the way my friend.

    Thanks for sharing. Mine is an electric motor wiper (1930 Town Sedan). The problem with mine is that the motor is mounted inside the windshield and the drive shaft goes through the notch in the windshield header where your on/off control is located. This means that when the windshield is opened, the motor also swings down and is slightly in my vision. The vacuum motor mounted on the outside looks like a better option.

    I recently folded a letter into an envelope using a slightly different method. Differences: I put the seal on the inside, to the left of the signature line. I used a decorative decal to seal the letter on the outside. I haven't heard yet from the recipient regarding whether the letter got through the post; the size of the letter when folded into an envelope was approximately 3" x 4". I have sent letters with a wax seal on the flap, but one was returned with the seal destroyed by the USPS processing machine, so I don't put wax seals of the outside of an envelops anymore....

    David, we LOVE this video, and your Model A is fantastic! My first car was a 1929 Model A, and my second car, and one I wish I'd never have sold, was a 1932 Model B Ford! If I may offer a suggestion, though: You NEED a period correct stove! And, guess what?!?? I happen to collect camping stoves (the oldest being from 1866!), and I just might have a stove that would fit into your camp perfectly! Though many of the stoves back then just burned gasoline from the campers cars, I would strongly suggest you use Coleman Fuel, as it will keep the stove trouble-free, whilst auto gas will clog up the generator in short order! In any case, if you are interested in talking about the stove, please give me a shout, and I'll tell you what I have in mind for you. Thanks, again, for a great video, and for allowing us all to come along on your trip!! Keep camping, and God Bless! - Every Good Wish, Doc Mark and Sweet Bride
